What's it like to be coached by me?

As a coach, I can leverage a 22-year career in finance and my first-hand experience of the complexities and issues that professionals face today. During my career, I worked at Morgan Stanley in New York and London as a Managing Director and held the role of Chief Operating Officer.

As your coach, I will be your independent sounding board. Someone who will challenge and hold you accountable. Someone who will guide you as you step outside your comfort zones and dare you to think of alternative approaches and perspectives to the opportunities and challenges you face.

My coaching sessions are a mixture of consultation, challenge, support, experimentation, and mentoring. Although flexible and far-reaching, the sessions are situational and intentional. There are business challenges and career and personal development agendas to satisfy. I help clients move forward towards their goals and positive, enduring change.

Clients describe me as:

  • "Someone who asks the difficult questions."

  • "A guide to challenge and partner with you."

  • "A trusted sounding board."

  • "A great sparring partner."

My clients

My clients are successful, impact-driven leaders in their fields. They include financial and professional services executives, as well as leaders in FinTech and higher education. However, they all share one thing in common: a desire to create change. Whether that change is big, something the whole world can see, or small adjustments to get ahead.

My clients understand a simple truth: continuously learning can be expensive in terms of time and effort, but standing still and not furthering one's personal development costs a fortune.

Typically, I work with clients who:

  • Want to obtain new perspectives on a challenge they have been struggling with.

  • Are looking to enhance their performance and impact as leaders.

  • Are starting a new role and want to transition successfully, make a positive impact and quickly establish credibility.

  • Want help analysing opportunities and the resulting options to improve their decision-making and execution.

  • Are looking to benefit from an independent and confidential sounding board.

Personal Development Tools:

Coaching can be interpreted as a privileged form of self-development and is often inaccessible to most. However, I want more people to benefit from coaching practices and introduce them to their busy working days. So, outside of my coaching, I provide some of the core coaching tools, techniques and disciplines to help people become more impactful leaders through two other avenues:

Coaching Contemplations Newsletter and Ideas & Insights from the Blog

I write a popular email newsletter that shares insights from the fields of leadership, coaching and productivity. I hope that knowledge workers and executives discover new insights, tools and habits that can lead to a positive, enduring change in their careers.

RYSE Journal

I created and published the RYSE JOURNAL, a self-coaching journal for mastering the key behaviours to motivate yourself and succeed at work. The RYSE JOURNAL is designed to help you organise your thoughts in a world of doing more with less. Through thoughtful insights and helpful activities interspersed throughout your workday, this journal aims to help you develop a coaching style of leadership.
